Rrroll Up the Rim - fifth week

Not a week to win!

Nope.

Nada.

Not a one.

And I bought 2 more coffees than usual!

So I am now 6 for 37.

That's 1 in 6 though.

So still better than the odds listed on the cup.

(The cup says 1 in 9 for those who might not know.)

And as long as there are RRrroll up the Rim cups, we have hope!

So lets hope for more winning cups!

Remember, no need to double cup if you have a great cup cozy!

I sold one of these work sock cozies this week, so made another one to replace it in my shop.

There are lots of colours to choose from, and you can always contact me to make the colour of your choice!

Wednesday Wonder - treasuries

Treasuries.

On Etsy.com a treasury is like a mini "favourites" list. The whole process is almost mysterious and really quite addicting! Want to see one? Check out Citrus Warmth by nansglam, an Etsy shop owner. (p.s. it will expire Sat.Mar.28th at 5 pm)

I've been fortunate enough to "snag" a treasury, and even more fortunate to have my shop items featured.

Etsy treasuries are definitely deserving of today's Wednesday Wonder title!

Here is one I made a few days ago - inspired by the song Myfanwy.

Teams on Tuesday - Girl Guides

Yes, I am a Girl Guide leader! As such, I am a member of a great team - I do the bookkeeping for the 64th Guides.

Right now, we're preparing to sell cookies! We will be going door-to-door one night this week in our neighbourhood. Most of the girls in our Unit have also pledged to sell some of the cases.

Looking for cookies in your part of Canada? Try calling Girl Guides of Canada to locate a Unit in your neighbourhood that has cookies for sale: 1-800-565-8111
And be sure to check out the vintage Girl Guide items in my Etsy shop Patterns And Such!

Rrroll Up the Rim - 4th week

Yes, Rrrrolll Up the Rim is still happening.

I imagine it will be coming to and end soon.

That's so sad.

But it has been 4 weeks now...

...and 28 coffees have been drank (drunk?) in these 28 days.

And one more coffee won this past week.
(and one more as a gift from hubby)

Officially, I'm at 6 for 28 (not counting hubby's).

So that's better than the 1 in 9 odds that it says on the cup eh.

Want to keep your coffee warm and be stylin'? Try one of my cup cozies!

Multi-purpose!
- saves double-cupping
- protects your hands from hot cups
- looks way cool!
- might even keep the beverage warm a wee bit longer, too!

It's Spring!

It's spring!

How better to celebrate than to support me as I participate in my 28th year of the Great Ride 'n' Stride!

Great Ride 'n' Stride is a non-competitive fundraising event where participants walk, run, in-line skate or cycle, while raising funds for people living with cancer.

And this is my 28th year cycling!

When I started, we cycled the city streets for about 20 miles in The Great Ride. The last leg of the trip was on one of our busier streets and over the years, that street has become even busier. The route was changed to move the event to more bike paths and less streets, and shortened too, to 20 kms - but hey! there were lots more hills! In addition, a walking route was added. Now the event takes place in one of the largest city parks and I'm not really sure how long the route is - and I still cycle it. There are fewer cyclists now and most participants are walking, but to keep with the original tradition of this event, I'll be cycling for as long as I can. :)

Want to pledge me? It's easier than ever - just click the Great Ride 'n' Stride logo at the side of this message or any of the clickable links in this post. Your support will help the Canadian Cancer Society.
This year's event takes place on April 26, 2009. Thank you for your support!

Wednesday Wonder - wonky photos

Wonky photos?

Yes, that's what happens when your digital camera dies.

I've been told I should add these photos for sale in my Etsy shop, so watch for them! Once I get some printed, I'll be adding them!

Hm, when I shrunk the photo down for this blog entry, it got those black lines across it - it looks way "cooler" without them!

edited to add: this abstract photo has been named "Abstract Reflections CC" and is now available for sale - click here!

St. Patrick's Day

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

(This is a traditional Irish Blessing whose origin is unknown. There are those that attribute it to St. Patrick)

Rrroll Up the Rim - third week

Three weeks into Rrroll up the Rim and how am I doing?

Well, believe it or not, I won 2 more coffees last week!

So I am now 5 for 21.

Not to mention that my hunny won two coffees and gave them to me, too.

And for those of you who think all anyone ever wins is the coffee prize, well, guess what?! My friend Deb's boyfriend won a $100 gift card! Woo hoo to him! (tell him eh Deb!) And I think it was two years ago that a co-worker won a BBQ. That's the closest I've come to any of the big prizes.

And remember, my cup cozies can be made to any size! So no more double-cupping for you, buy one of my cup cozies!

my etsy-versary: and a give-away!

My shop, ennadoolf, is almost a year old!

I think I need to do something to celebrate, so I am going to have a
GIVE-AWAY!!

This SWEETHEART SWEATERS PATTERN or this SUNNY YELLOW DISHCLOTH could be YOURS!

The give-away draw will take place on
March 30, 2009!

That is my one year Etsy-versary!

Simply add a comment to this post - and be sure to include a way for me to contact you - and I will randomly (or r-anne-dom'ly!) choose one person to receive EITHER the pattern OR the dishcloth!

The draw will take place on March 30, 2009.

The SWEETHEART SWEATERS PATTERN is from a magazine and includes BOTH the patterns you see here, the PULLOVER and the VEST. Your little sweetheart will love the pretty designs, the soft comfy yarns; you'll adore the fact that they wash and dry in the machine!

This SUNNY YELLOW DISHCLOTH was handknit by me. The clover leaf design might bring a wee bit of luck to your kitchen - maybe less broken dishes? If clovers and/or yellow aren't your preference, think about it - it's for doing the dishes! :)

Simply leave a comment - and be sure to leave your email or another way I can get hold of you! Draw to take place on March 30, 2009.

And don't forget to visit ennadoolf.etsy.com for all your handmade gifting needs!

Friday the 13th (March 09)

Here it is, Friday the 13th!

In Port Dover, this means motorcycles! Lots of them! No matter the weather, bikers will head to Port Dover every Friday the 13th.

In 2008, I joined the crowds as a passenger on a bike for the pilgrimage to Dover. What crowds! Of course, it was in June so the weather was not the same as in February or March or
November, the dates this year!

In this photo I took in 2008, you can see the main street is filled with bikes parked along both curbs as well as along the centre line and everyone checks out the great variety of bikes. That year, over 30,000 bikes were in Port Dover, a Guinness Book World Record.

For more information on Friday the 13th in Port Dover, visit the official website.

Looking for perfect gift for your biker friends and family?

Teams on Tuesday - Knitting!!

Yes, there is a team of knitters!

What's more, the CEO of Etsy, Maria Thomas, was interviewed when they were named in the top 50 companies - and she name drops the EtsyKnitters team!

Pretty cool.

Because I am a member of that team!

And I took part in the trunk show she mentions.

Click here for the interview. and learn a bit about Etsy too!

Here is a short excerpt:
"The site (its name was inspired by Fellini's 8½) was launched in 2005 by three New York University students led by founder Rob Kalin; it now counts 1.8 million members in 150 countries, and 2 million listings"

Rrroll Up the Rim - 2nd week

I read on my Timmies cup this week that odds of winning are 1 in 9.

This past week, I won 2 more free coffees!

So, I am now 3 for 14.

I think it's because I never double-cup - I always use a cup cozy! The "free coffee gods" are showing their appreciation that I'm helping the environment.

Get your own cup cozy here!
